Upon arrival at Kuching International Airport, meet and greet by our friendly representative and proceed for KUCHING CITY & SHOPPING TOUR. Kuching, the Capital of Sarawak, is a cosmopolitan city and this is reflected in the faces on the street. Its city centre is well preserved with ornate Chinese Temples, The Astana, City Tower, and many fine examples of colonial-style architecture, a beautiful waterfront and a number of interesting museums such as Cat Museum. Other places of interest include the famous landmark of the city, the New DUN, The Golden Bridge, The Cat Monument, Market, Main Bazaar, China Town, Old State Mosque & etc. After tour, transfer to hotel of your choice for check in and overnight.

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, proceed for BAKO NATIONAL PARK TOUR. Bako National Park, established since 1957, is the oldest and one of the most popular national parks in Sarawak. Situated about 37 km from Kuching city, the excursion takes about one and a half hour by land and boat. With an area about 2,727 hectares, it offers the perfect introduction to Sarawak’s Forest and wildlife. Unlike the other parks, visitors to Bako National Park are almost guaranteed to see wildlife such as long-tailed macaques, squirrels, white bearded pigs, silver leaf monkeys, etc. With 17 trails provided, ranging from 0.2 km to 5.75 km, you will almost find new experience in each different trail. You will be brought along the Teluk Paku trail. To spot the Proboscis monkey, species which only can be found in Borneo Island, you will need to walk slowly, keep as quiet as possible, and listen out for sounds and movement along the way. In Bako National Park, you will also be able to view 7 different types of vegetations and forests from almost desert-like scrub or ‘padang’ to lowland dipterocarp forest. Lunch at Bako Park café. After tour, transfer to hotel of your choice for check in and overnight.   Wildlife sightings: With any tour involving wildlife there is no guarantee for sighting, although each trip is designed around known habitats. The guides will do their utmost to ensure a sighting, but cannot be held responsible if there is no success, because of weather circumstances, the wildlife itself or any other element beyond our control.

Breakfast at the hotel, Morning proceed to visit SEMENGGOH WILDLFE CENTRE. traveling overland (30 min) followed by a brief hike through dipterocarp forest. Upon arrival at the centre, you will be able to catch a glimpse of the Orang Utans during their feeding time. Spot their delicate nests watch their skillful movements at the treetops and also their interesting behaviour during feeding time. The guide will narrate to you the behaviour, emotion and characteristics of this special primate called Orang Utan, meaning ‘Man of the Forest’. Continue journey to MENGKAK LONGHOUSE. The expedition will begin with a 4 hours car ride passing through the scenic greenery countryside. The vast land on both side of the road are can be seen dotted with vegetable farms, padi fields, rubber, pepper, oil palm and cocoa plantations which generated some of the top revenue earner crops of Sarawak. Enroute you will have a brief stopover at small native town called Serian. Experience the busy daily wet market and witness some of the rare jungle produce brought by the native from the deep jungle. Lunch break is at ‘Lachau’ – small popular ‘cowboy’ town for Indonesian natives from the nearby Kalimantan border town to do barter trade. You can do your last minutes shopping for the visiting gift to present to your Iban host. Arrive at Batang Ai Hydro Lake. The journey will take you across the lake into the Engkari River, one of the many tributaries flowing into the lake. The journey will take approximately 30 minutes before reaching Mengkak Longhouse nestled on a hill beside the river. The village of 30 to 40 “bilek” or rooms (each of one family) all under one roof built on stilts about a meter above the ground. Meet with its inhabitants and share a moment of their day. Share a glass of tuak (rice wine) and cultural performance with Iban hosts on the Ruai. Dinner & overnight at the longhouse.

After breakfast, you will be invited to watch the demonstration using of the blowpipe which will be held at the open space. That is a chance for you to try on this popular leisure game and polish your skill of using the deadly weapon – ‘blowpipe’. Return trip to Kuching is by longboat and overland. Lunch enroute. Transfer to City Hotel of your choice for check in and overnight.
